Friday Focus- Tie The Perfect Bow With Kittie
The Friday Focus today will be three different tutorials on working with ribbon. They are short and simple and may even seem elementary to many of you. But, I want to share a few hints with those of you who struggle to create nice ribbon embellishments for your projects. I get comments and questions all the time from people wanting to know how I tie such nice flat bows. I have to admit that is comes very easy for me as my mother put ribbon in my ten year old hands to keep me busy when I "helped" her in her flower shop. I learned how to work with ribbon from mother and it is second nature for me but you can learn as well. Feel free to write any questions you may have in the comments area of this post and I will be more than happy to respond.
The first tutorial shows two techniques for creating a tied knot on your project without all the struggles of trying to tie it directly onto the cardstock. Do you think Sherry tied the ribbon directly onto this darling card? Only Sherry knows for sure.
I love this perfectly tied single loop bow by Linda. The two toned ribbon shows how perfectly her bow was tied.
This is an example of a multi loop bow and shows off how much more those few extra loops can add to your project.
I hope you have found these tutorials helpful. I had lots of fun recording them but it didn't take long for me to realize that I was never going to be asked to do my own show on HGTV. Talk about needing speech therapy!!!!!

Thank you for sharing these tutorials.
I love these kind of step-by-step instructions. I would like to see you do more of these - especially with some of your beautiful cards.

Thank you so much for your tutorials, Kittie! I don't think you need speech therapy at all, by the way, but I was surprised by the sound of your voice - just because I guess I had a different idea of how you would sound! You may say that "nothing is perfect", but your projects always look perfect! I love your multi loop bows - they add so much to your already gorgeous creations! Now if I can only coax my arthritic hands to do those tiny bows...I can sure tell you have been in a floral shop! Thanks again for sharing!

Thanks so much Kittie. Your very clear instruction was so helpful to me. I'm forwarding your videos to all my crafty friends who are stingy with their ribbon when tying their bows (LOL). Thank you again for your patience and generosity towards your fellow stampers. Wendy

I'm off work today (woo-hoo!) and finally found some time to come to your blog to see if you had a ribbon tying tutorial and, Voila!, you do!! Thank you for these great tutorials, Kittie! All of your tips are wonderful. The multi-loop ribbon is a little challenging for me with my arthritis, but I'm going to keep trying because I love that multi-loop!

Kitty: How can I ever thank you enough for leading me to your fabulous tutorials. While I may not be an expert at this bow thing yet, you've lead me in the right direction and I'm sitting here typing and looking my first ever decent bow. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have to admit though, I was talking to God about it the whole time. Niow I need to know, do you tie it to your ribbon on the card, or do you glue it?
