Welcome to Kittie’s Korner. Today I have a fun rural farm scene card to share with lots of red and olive green which is one of my favorite color combination. I don’t have a tutorial for my project but if you are interested in see a step by step of how I create my scenes I will be happy to do one.
I stamped the image on watercolor paper and painted with a brush and reinker mixed with water. I hand sketched the tree in behind the barn, painted the trunk and filled in the foliage with the mini fern stamp from my Kittie Kits Outdoor Master. I used a sponge to spread the color on the tree top when I finished stamping in the leaves. I sponged a light brown path leading away from the barn door and then sponged in green around the barn and filled in the texture of the grass with the mini fern. I stamped a second roof top on scrap paper, painted and cut out and popped up to add a bit of dimension to the roof line. I mounted the triple matted frame over the scene with mounting tape and created a flower spray with lots of punched foliage and little red paper flowers. I applied several tiny little red paper flowers and sprigs of punched greenery around the base of the barn and yard area. Nothing says country to me like red and white gingham and I thought it was the perfect finishing touch. Here are a few more views.
Thank you for stopping by today. I really appreciate it and hope you can come back next Monday.
