Kittie's Korner- More Poinsettias

Welcome to Kittie’s Korner. I can’t seem to get enough of making poinsettias for my cards with the Spellbinders Layered Poinsettia die set. I really enjoy pairing framed sentiments with floral embellishments and Christmas cards give me the perfect opportunity. I have white card to share today with beautiful poinsettia floral sprays anchoring two corners of a gold embossed sentiment. The rich red flowers and green foliage pop off of the white background and the stark colors create wonderful contrast.

I used Nestabilities Lattice Rectangles to create the double layers on my card. The sentiment is Rubbernecker’s Wishing You The Hope and was stamped with versa and gold embossed. I popped the sentiment layer up on mounting tape for added dimension and to build the poinsettia sprays on. The holly and pine foliage in the spray were both created using Martha Stewart punches. The flower centers are tiny rhinestones but I don’t think they show well in the photo. Here a couple other views.

FRIDAY "NIGHT" FUN with javablustamper

TGIF!  Rubbernecker friends!!  Thanks for stopping by!  I was trying my hand at the Clean And Simple thing again!!  I wanted to use the SPIDER image from Rubbernecker Stamps HALLOWEEN SET 1!!  I just LOVE this set and have really used the tree and pumpkin quite a LOT, so.......I just HAD to use a DIFF image!!   I layered some Georgia Pacific white onto Papertrey black cardstock and used my Inksentials sponging tool on the edges of the white.  I sponged the edges with Dusty Concord Distress Ink, which is the same ink I used with my Ranger Superfine embossing powder to do the spider!  Not that this pic really shows that a whole lot!  Haha!  After I did all that, I used the matching sentiment from the same HALLOWEEN 1 set and stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink!  Of course I had to finish my creation with some YUMMY Twinery twine!!  I used the Charcoal and the Lilac, topped with a Basic Grey, Wisteria button!!  What do you think?  Clean and Simple enough?  I always have a hard time with knowing when to STOP adding!  For I am ALWAYS wanting to add more and MORE!!  I DEF wanted to add MORE to this one!!  Oh well!  Hope you like!!  I also hope you all have a SUPER, fun, safe Halloween!!  Do you have a costume?  Are you attending any par-tay's?  I wish you LOTS of TREATS!!   AND......no tricks!!  Stop back on Monday for KITTIE'S KORNER!!  I know she will have a BEAUTIFUL creation to share with you!!

Karen’s Korner–a really big card!

You know, there are people in your life that can get cut down by one unkind comment. All the nice things they have heard about themselves suddenly take a back seat to that one negative comment. I created this card to bring some cheer to someone like that.

 

This card is made from a 12X12 piece of cardstock, so it is really big. I wanted lots of room for people to write positive and encouraging comments inside.

I used some fabulous papers by Paper Pizazz – Sara Papers. The top panel is embossed with the Sizzix Bricked folder and the bottom panel is embossed with the Cuttlebug Paisley folder and the edges distressed and sponged. The sentiment is computer generated. I used another piece of the designer paper as my image panel, stamping the watches using Vintage Photo distress ink. I masked the largest one before stamping the smaller ones. They are also clear embossed for a little more definition and brads added. I then cut/embossed the image panel using a Spellbinders die and mounting onto a piece of vanilla linen card stock which is sponged with Vintage Photo Ink, Walnut Stain Ink and Pumice Stone and brads added to the corners before popping it up.

Wednesday's Worktable with Charlene

Boy, Wednesdays sure do seem to sneak up on me pretty fast!  I have been a real stampin' fool this month as I am trying to participate in the Hope You Can Cling To challenges hosted by Splitcoaststampers.  My card I have to share with you today is for one of those challenges where we are to make a circle card. I used my circle, lacey circle and fleur de lis motif Nestabilities for my circle card today.

These sweet flowers are from a set called Wildflower Set.  I used a blender pen and ink to color them and centered each one with a champagne pearl.

It's hard to see in the photo but I stamped Rubbernecker's Lace background stamp in Spun Sugar (pale pink) on the white circle and then stamped the French Script bg in Crumb Cake over that.  I sponged the edges of the two top layers with Crumb Cake and Soft Suede inks.

TUESDAYS WITH THE TEAM~

Welcome to Rubbernecker Stamps Tuesday’s with the Team.    This is the “other” Charlene, aka cookiebaker.   Today, my card for you is Clean and Simple. 

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month (don’t forget to do your self-check, ladies!)  Sadly, we have several friends who’ve been recently diagnosed with breast cancer so I needed a few quick cards.  Thankfully, Rubbernecker Stamps has so many beautiful sentiments that make creating meaningful cards easy.

My card for you today is super CAS.  I was inspired by the Week 38 challenge on the Less is More blog to use Polka Dots.

I chose the beautiful sentiment from Rubbernecker called “Sorrow Looks at Yesterday”  582-17 as my main image. 

Here are your supplies:

Card base:  8 /12 x 5 ½ inches scored

Stamps:  Rubbernecker Stamps 582-17

Ink : Tsukineko Versafine black

Designer Paper:  Making Memories

Ribbon:  May Arts 1 /14 inch Pink Silk Ribbon

Other:  tape runner, Glue Dots, SU scalloped edge punch, Quickie Glue Pen, Stamp-a-ma-jig (optional)

  1. After scoring your card, trim 1/8 inch from the bottom edge of the card front.

 2. Cut Designer Paper 5 ½ x 1 ½ inches.  Punch one end with the scalloped edge punch. 

 3.  Attach the scalloped paper to the bottom edge of the card front using tape runner.  Attach the leftover strip of designer paper to the bottom edge of the inside edge of the card using the Quickie Glue Pen.

 

 4.  Lay ribbon across the card front to see how far up you need to place your sentiment.   Remove the ribbon, stamp sentiment.  Tie ribbon around the card using Glue Dot, if needed to hold the bow in place.

 

That’s it!  Quick, easy and elegant thanks to the beautiful Rubbernecker Stamps sentiments.

Kittie's Korner- Poinsettia and Pine

Welcome to Kittie’s Korner. Today I have a Christmas project to share with you pairing the Rubbernecker May You Have sentiment with the new Spellbinder Layered Poinsettia die set. I just got the die set this week and couldn’t wait to play with it.

I used the smaller dies for this project as I wanted to create a floral spray that would fit well on the matted frame. I created dimension on the flowers by rolling a stylus over the back of each petal while laying on a mouse pad. I sponged cranberry ink on to add a little depth and attached the layers with Glossy Accents. I used my 1/8” circle punch to make the little yellow center of the flowers and added yellow Stickles for sparkle. I created three small pine cones using caramel cardstock and layered small oval scalloped die cuts. I cut down between each scallop and lightly distressed using the stylus on the mouse pad. Each cone has three layers and I sponged with brown ink to add depth. I curled the edges of the cut scallops with needle nose pliers. I created the floral spray using Martha Stewart Pine Branch and Holly punches.

FRIDAY "FUN" ON SATURDAY with javablustamper

Hey friends!  How are you?  How was your week?  Please forgive me for being late!!  SO sorry!  Let's just say there was a LOT of family stuff, that could not be avoided!!  SO, on that note, I would like to THANK YOU all for stopping in to see me!!  I have an exciting project to share with you!  Well, exciting to me anyway!  Haha!  I recently saw an embossing tutorial that was VERY intriguing!!  They used the VERSAMAGIC chalk inks?  Who knew they were SO versatile?!!  I have NEVER used them before and I SO am in love with them now!!! 

I was able to use the VersaMagic Perfect Plumeria Chalk Ink on my Kraft cardstock and emboss it with Ranger Superfine Clear embossing powder.  I used the RN FLORAL CIRCLE as my background.  I then took a chipboard tag and colored it with the same VersaMagic Chalk Ink.  Direct from Ink pad to chipboard!!  After I heat set it a bit with my heat gun, I stamped one of the sentiments from the RN GARDEN PHRASES set with my Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  Then I sprinkled some of the clear embossing powder on that and embossed that!!  I took some Cappucino Twinery Twine, colored it with my Walnut Stain, and wrapped it around my card and my tag!!  I finished off the project with some brown Kaisercraft pearls!  I REALLY am liking these chalk inks!!  I will DEF be using more of these!!  Hope you like my creation!!  Thanks again for hanging out with me tonight!!  Have a GREAT rest of your weekend!!  Be sure to stop back on Monday for KITTIE'S KORNER!!  I know she will have something AMAZING for you!!!

Karen’s Korner - Thanksgiving

I just love fall and the chance to stop and count my blessings.

I stamped the pilgrims onto white card stock using Rich Cocoa Memento ink and then colored with Copic markers before cutting out. The card front is brown with a panel of dp. I added three ribbons to the horizontal center of the card. I then added a leaf which was cut/embossed with a Spellbinders die using a coordinating dp. The girl is adhered right to the card front and then the boy is popped up for a little dimension. I inked up the sentiment stamp with a marker, only inking the word Thanks from the Thanksgiving stamp and stamping it onto vanilla card stock. That was punched out using an oval shape, then I added color to the edge with AtYou pens. That is popped up with the bow added to the top.

Wednesday's Worktable with Charlene

Hello, Rubbernecker Friends! Did you enjoy the Halloween/Fall blog hop a few days ago?  If you missed it, see the post above.  You have until Thursday to get your comments posted for a chance to win a free stamp set, and who doesn't love free?!?!?!!!

I'm still in Halloween mode and made this acetate treat box for a friend of mine who loves Halloween.  I colored the Candy Corn images with Copic markers and cut out two of the little ones to adhere to the treat box.  I'll use the larger candy corn image and the other two little corns either for a tag or card.  Aren't they cute?  There's a great sentiment that goes with them, too, that reads "Just hand over the candy corn and no one will get hurt."  I love it!

I used black cardstock for the top and bottom of the box and reinforced the edges of the acetate with black striped designer paper, although you really don't have to do that.  I just liked the look of it.  I added candy corn designer paper to the top of the lid, as well as inside of the bottom piece.  I know it's kind of hard to see in the photo, but I adhered black pom pom ribbon around the top lid with ScorPal tape.

Kittie's Korner- All Things Grow With Love

Welcome to Kittie’s Korner. My project today is fairly clean and simple with a little touch of dimension in the flower and leaves. I love pink and black together paired with white. This is what I came up with.

I stamped the flower three times on watercolor paper, heat set and then watercolored using reinker mixed with water. I cut out a complete flower and two additional sections to layer to build up dimension. I stamped the flower and stem on a piece of white cardstock to use as the base and attached the flower over top of it. I used a Spellbinder foliage die to create a couple leaves to add to the stem of the flower. I added a black organdy multi loop bow for the finishing touch. Here’s a closer view.
